Our Team
Colin Draun
Field Technician, Senior Tech Support
I'm Colin, and I've been assisting seniors with their technology for years. I've always had an innate curiosity and technical itch to scratch, so it's something of a natural fit for me to do this kind of work. Much of my knowledge comes from learned experience, but I was trained professionally at the Harper College's Continuing Professional Education program for CompTIA certifications in networking and cybersecurity. I have been putting this knowledge to regular use, having helped hundreds of seniors in a one-on-one setting in their homes with all manner of devices: laptops, desktops, printers, phones, tablets, smart home devices, hearing aids, hard drives, streaming services—the list goes on.
In a past life not too long ago, I was a graphic designer for children's magazines. At the end of each month, we'd send off the files for the issue to be printed, and then jump headfirst into the next month's issue. We'd never really get to see the joy or the impact on the kids' faces, or the difference we were hoping to make; we'd just move on preparing the next magazine. Contrast this to now, where I'm working one-to-one with people on the opposite end of the age spectrum, helping them with things that make an immediate difference in their lives. I am always grateful for their kindness in the face of frustrations only technology can produce.
Working with Senior Tech Support provides me this experience in the full confidence that the work we do is supporting the right cause. This company was created for the right reasons, and I'm proud of the work we do. Everyone needs help navigating the ever-evolving and expanding digital landscape as it grows to touch all aspects of our daily life. These changes can be daunting, annoying, concerning, or exciting, but we all need a little guidance to keep ourselves grounded, and connected.
